This work is a presentation of the layer parts that make up a single expression.

The process of creating my work involves the processing of digital photographs, which requires the creation of several image layers.

In order to faithfully express my ideas, I struggle with each and every one of these layers.

I hope that by showing you this, you will be able to appreciate my original work in a more interesting way.

Originally, my work embodies a series of temporal or sensual flows.

Therefore, I will not explain each of these expressions.

This work is a combination of four digital artworks.

Each piece is a sequential representation of six perceptual transitions starting with each of the four land & mindscape images of trees, the Alberta Legislature Building, and the old Walterdale Bridge in the season of bloom. Inspired by the Zentangle, a means of expression that uses the square as its basic frame, it would have been ideal to be able to place the four works in that form.

I took the original pictures for each plate of this work in the year of the 100th anniversary of the Alberta Legislature Building*. I wasn't particularly conscious of the 100th anniversary, and I had been taking pictures of this landscape in the years before and after. Also, even now that the bridge* has been newly replaced, I continue to shoot in a similar landscape.

This work is the first in my current style of sequential landscape installation art using a horizontal rectangular frame. When I was sorting through my photos to decide on the theme of the work to realize the idea, I happened to notice that I had been taking these photos that year as well. That's how I decided.

I decided on the subtitle (or organizing name) of the work after I selected the images, and I remember thinking of making it something other than the "Legislature Building ". And since it was only one year out of 100 years, I came up with the word "1/100th". What I have accumulated and expressed is only one year in a hundred years, but I imagine that an idea of a hundred years is used to be formed by connection and extension of such a short step. This was at least motivating to express for me.

This work is a still image processed from the frame of "02 Art Video by Toshiaki - Old Film Series".

It's rough like the old film, but I think it is as good as the video as long as it doesn't spoil the original image.

In making those videos, I did not use the old film effect on the original video in its entirety.

It is processed so that the original image appears when each subject appears,

So I don't think that makes this still image just another old photograph.

Everything that makes up this world is in constant motion, which is one of the key elements in my artistic expression.

The depiction of this budding and blooming period is easy to see because the changes are so remarkable.

Also, I feel that the old film effect emphasizes the entanglement with the flow of time.
